J'accuse! is a social deduction game where you don't know whether you should hunt or hide.
Play with 5-10 friends, accuse them of being in the minority team, or sneak around and steal their information.
The Setup
Two Words
Each player receives a secret word. There are only 2 different words in the game — a majority word and a minority word.
Hidden Identity
When you get your word, you don't know if it's the majority or minority word. You must figure it out!
Your Goal
Majority: Identify and condemn all minority members.
Minority: Discover the majority word.
On Your Turn
Ask a Question
Ask any player a question to reveal information about their word. Questions can be about anything, and answers don't have to be truthful!
No insider information — don't reference private knowledge between you and that player.
Accuse Someone
Point your finger and trigger a vote! All non-condemned players vote yes or no. If more than half vote yes, the accused is condemned.
Condemned players can't talk, can't be asked questions, and skip their turns.
The Buzzer
At any point (while not condemned), you can shout:
You then have one minute to guess 3 words. If the majority word is among your guesses, the minority wins!
Only use the Buzzer if you're confident you're in the minority!
How the Game Ends
Majority Wins
All minority members are condemned
Minority Wins
- Two majority members are condemned, OR
- The majority word is guessed via Buzzer
Pro Tips
The best word pairs are somewhat related but not too similar — like "The Taj Mahal" and "The Kremlin" (both famous landmarks, different places).
